A bit about me
Who am I, how did I start and what else do I do?
Who is Mark Germany?
I am a self employed photographer based in Norfolk and working generally in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambs.
My primary focus is in photography workshops which provide affordable studio photography to groups such as nurseries, baby parties and performing arts schools. See my Workshops section for more information.
I love a challenge, the harder the image is to capture the harder I strive to get it. See my Projects for some examples.
How did I get into photography?
I always found taking photos fun and wanted to do more but with the costs involved with ‘film’ photography I never managed to take it any further. This all changed when Nikon released affordable digital SLR cameras. At last we could experiment and learn with no costly film and development fees. From there I assisted other photographers at weddings and held portrait sessions. Before long I knew this was something I loved and wanted to take further. A few years on and I am running a sucessfull business and always expanding.
When im not taking pictures?
I am generally found at my PC editing photos but I do try to get away when I can. My little lad Henry keeps me busy and is often to be seen testing out new studio techniques. I also enjoy pretty much sny big boys toys, flying models, games, gadgets. And after nearly five years I finished building my own car from scratch. You can see more at www.myTomcat.co.uk where I try to explain how anyone can do it if you stay focused and dont give up.

I am a qualified member of the BIPP at licentiate level. I am currently putting my portfolio together to apply for associate level, watch this space!
Legal.
I have comprehensive photographers insurance including public liability. Details on request.
The CRB checking process does not allow individuals to apply for a CRB check on themselves but I support any company or organisation requesting one on my behalf if you require one before we can work together.
I take health and safety very seriously. Whenever possible I will tape background materials to the floor, I use extra supports if needed and all my equipment is kept in good order and serviced regularily. Any toys used as props are kept clean and in good condition, all blankets are washed after each event.
